Dr. Matthew C. Byars

Dr. Byars is a dedicated professional, with over 20 years of experience in his field. He has an impressive career path and has helped people smile again all over the world.

Prior to opening Smile 360 in 2019, Dr. Byars worked with Coast Dental and then Dental Care Alliance, both in the Tampa area.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1998 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, following his undergraduate degree from Olivet College. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served our country for 12 years, completing his service at the rank of Commander in 2010 at MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa, Florida.

Throughout his military career Dr. Byars continued his education, completing a yearlong fellowship in oral surgery. While stationed in Sicily, Italy he provided families with their surgical and general dental care. In 2008 Dr. Byars accepted a special assignment and was one of only three sailors attached to Naval Station Bahrain, followed by a transfer to Key West, and then on to Tampa.

In his free time, Dr. Byars enjoys being with his wife Kim and their dog Cali. They like to travel, spend time with friends and are active in fitness sports.
